Default Archive.org (movies, MP3 and a bunch of other cool stuff)

I think this one deserves a thread of its own: Archive.org, the Internet Archive. It has a bunch of stuff like MP3 and movie files, everything legal (lots of them are in public domain). I found it a couple of days ago and have already downloaded 3 complete shows in MP3 (Grateful Dead, Country Joe McDonald, and Death Cab for Cutie), about 20 Betty Boop cartoons (and also some Superman, Merry Melodies, etc), and two movies (D.W. Griffith's "Abraham Lincoln" and another old one called "Reefer Madness"). It's truly amazing, so check it out.

I like their idea of making all these public domain stuff available to everyone. But can you imagine how much they spend on bandwidth? I've downloaded almost 3 GB on the last few days. Last night I've downloaded George Romero's classic "The Night of the Living Dead" and Friedrich Murnau's "The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari", a German expressionist movie of the 1920's on MPEG1 file format and now I'm planning to download "Nosferatu". Then I created some VCDs with those files and they're great to play on my DVD.
